Kipot Summer Resort

Kipot Summer Resort is home to the enchanting Kipot Twin Falls, a stream separated by a sharp overhang that splits the path of water into two seemingly identical cascades.

The site of the Kipot Summer Resort is a humble donation of former Vice-Mayor Romualdo S. Araneta and family. With this gratuity goes the donor’s or recipients commitment to the protection and preservation of mother nature and their unending call to the BagueƱos to appreciate and take part in the preservation efforts, and to abundantly reap the benefits it provides to the people and the generations to come.

Kipot Summer Resort is best for family picnics and nature tripping activities. The magnificent falls makes you feel you’re in the middle of a mystical paradise. Trekking along boulders that form a narrow pathway, with raging falls nearby, puts the experience of nature’s treasures within reach.

From the gateway to the falls is a good 220 steps down a winding stairs. The stairway starts from a wide downhill path to a slim alley hugging the mountain side. An ideal trail for hiking. Upon reaching the falls, one forgets tires limbs from the long trek because of the magnificent beauty and soothing effect of the cascades.

Buenos Aires Mountain Resort, another tourist destination in Negros Occidental

Another famous tourist destination in Negros Occidental is Buenos Aires Mountain Resort located in Brgy. Ilijan in Bago City. Going there from Bacolod City would usually take about 45 minutes but for our group it took more since we were disoriented about the route (it was our first time without any guide!) and we had to stop by and ask the locals for directions.

For day-trippers, the resort offers open cottages while those planning to stay longer can stay at the hillside hotel located further up. There are also some closed cottages along the slopes with pathways leading up to the hotel. Those who prefer not hiking up can stay in one of the family suites in a rowhouse beside the Administration Office building.

Buenos Aires Mountain Resort is maintained by the Bago City  local government and supported by the Department of Tourism. The resort offers varied accommodation and facilities for day-trippers and visitors planning to stay overnight or for few days. Upon arrival at the resort, turn right and drive up to the Administration Office to settle your preferred accommodation (or reservation if you phoned ahead).

The hotel rooms, family suites and some closed cottages are air-conditioned with convenience outlets. The open cottages are also provided with convenience outlets. We arrived lunch time at the resort but decided to go on ahead to Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center  where we stayed overnight. We came back to Buenos Aires the next day, had our lunch at one of the open cottages by the brook and soaked ourselves for a while by the pool before heading home.

Buenos Aires Mountain Resort facilities and rates (as of April 1, 2009):
Hotel rooms: Php1000.00
Family suite rooms: Php1800.00
Closed cottages: Php800.00 (w/o AC); Php1200.00 (w/ AC)
Swimming pool: Adult – Php30.00; Children – Php25.00
Open cottages: Php100.00

Cebu City as one of Asia’s best Tourist Destination

Cebu city mostly known as the “ Queen City of the South” and the Seat of Christianity in the Philippines , Cebu is the country's oldest city. Exploring Cebu City , one encounters a rich historic past. Cebuanos are extremely proud of their cultural and historical heritage, a legacy which has endured through the centuries from the time the great explorer Ferdinand Magellan first planted the cross on Cebu 's shore. Time has been kind to Cebu . From Zubu, the busy trading port in 1521, it has evolved into a highly urbanized metropolitan center which now serves as focal point of growth and development in Southern Philippines .

Recently indications pointed out that Cebu has become the country's favorite tourist destination.  In contrast to the bustling metropolis, the rest of Cebu 's 167 islets and islands are lined with idyllic white sandy beaches and pristine clear waters.

Cebu has gained wide popularity for fantastic diving grounds evidenced by the proliferation of resorts which offer luxurious accommodations, excellent dive facilities and the services of competent dive masters and dive guides. Cebu 's strategic location makes it ideal for those who wish to travel to the other islands and provinces by plan, boat or bus. No place could be too far from Cebu.

Top US travel magazine ranks Cebu City one of Asia’s best
Cebu has been recently ranked the third best island in Asia by New York based travel magazine Travel + Leisure. The Philippine island follows Bali, which ranked first, and Maldives, second. Cebu got a rating of 87.5 points, eight points up from last year’s 79.68 point.

Cebu’s inclusion in the list was significant and rewarding because the provincial Government has been promoting the component towns and cities and Cebu was recognized as an island-province in the magazine. Travel + Business magazine recently released the results of the survey, which covers hotels, airlines, cruises, islands and cities all over the world.

Phineas Alburo, Department of Tourism undersecretary, said the good news proves Cebu has a lot to be proud of. He noted the magazine is a prestigious American publication in which respondents were asked to rate the islands based on their natural attractions, activities and sights, restaurant and food, people and value.

Blue Lagoon Boracay Resort

The Blue Lagoon Boracay Resort, also known among locals as the Malingay Cove, used to be a secret getaway. In fact, when people say “Pagudpud Beach”, it usually means Saud Beach which is about twenty minutes away from Blue Lagoon. Recently, however, because of its rustic beauty, Maira-ira (the name given to the entire stretch of beach in Blue Lagoon) is fast gaining popularity.

The Blue Lagoon Boracay Resort, which was completed in 2006, is located at the natural Tulubhanbeach on Boracay Island in the Philippines. Staying at the Blue Lagoon Resort will surely help to relax your mind and re-charge your energy. Our resort, with a purpose, has exceptionally chosen the small, more remote cove of Tulubhan in the south-eastern part of Boracay, rather than the overcrowded Whitebeach on the eastern side of the island. Staying at the Resort will make you avoid seeing congested big hotel structures which are nowadays typical for prominent tourist destinations but you are going to experience the distinct and original charm of the Paradise Island of Boracay.

During the summer, the cerulean waters of Blue Lagoon are idyllic, placid and serene. Though during the rainy season, the surfs are strong and unfriendly. Even if it’s summer, however, make sure to equip children (if any) with life vests for added protection.

Blue Lagoon Boracay Resort Activities:
The atmosphere of the island is perfect for romantic searching honeymooners, golf-enthusiasts (www.boracaygolf.com) and Aqua-sports lovers. Boracay is well known for the Professional Aqua-Sports: kite-boarding, surfing, diving, and many more. Or simply enjoy the long white dream beach.

The southeast of this island has many romantic lagoons. This coast is also loved by the surf and kite Profs because of the high waves. The Tulubhanbeach is compared to the White beach, still very natural and is inviting for a quiet romantic walk. You will never forget the sunrise. All our rooms have a direct view on the sea. If you want to have a glimpse of the sunrise, you don’t need get out early; you'll get a perking glimpse of this while you're still lazing in your own bed.

On the southwest of the island can you find the famous Whitebeach. The white powder-like fine sand makes the name of the beach right. This side of the island has the most modern tourist facilities. Here, you can find all kinds of shopping malls, fun places, restaurants and bars. Here, they never sleep! The Whitebeach offers for all fun seekers until very late at night a diverse of bars, discos and open-air facilities.

A free shuttle-service is available between 07:00 until 22:00 (service beyond the time can also be requested), if you may wish to tour around the key destinations in the island. You can also tour around the island with an ATV (All terrain vehicles), a motorbike or a mountain bike. Normal cars or other regular vehicles are not normally found in Boracay.

Apo Island Liberty Lodge

One of the two beach resorts in the island, Liberty Lodge is a unique structure whose central portion is built into a rock wall, giving you the impression of being actually carved into it.

The lodge has nine rooms, all with electric fans and decorated in typical Filipino fashion. Large windows abound in the whole building to address ventilation issues as air conditioning is virtually unheard of in the island. Bamboo and wood make up for much of the materials used, the furniture is also made of comfortable bamboo designs made by local craftsmen.

Recent expansion has brought about bigger rooms, each having its own private little balcony facing west of the island. Room rates begin from 20 USD to 40 USD depending on the type of accommodation.

Also in Liberty Lodge is Paul’s Diving, a specialty dive shop who offer diving services as well as rent out equipment and gear. There is also Liberty’s Restaurant, a well situated dining space that has a complete view of the beach. Some of its specialties are Filipino dishes mixed with selected international cuisine. Fish, being abundant and fresh all year round, is the highlight of the menu. The restaurant chef will cook it any way you want to have it.

The ambiance of Liberty’s Lodge is just hard to resist as it allows every guest to capture and truly enjoy the magic of island living, relying only on the barest of essentials. The island itself is devoid of electricity from 10pm - 6pm, so a stand by generator is always at hand to supply power to the hotel and restaurant. Six refrigerators are filled up to ensure cold beverages even ice cream at any time of the day. Being a remote island has presented difficulties but measures have been implemented to overcome such difficulties.

A stay at the Liberty Lodge is just a complement to the great diving at the Apo Island Marine Sanctuary where every diver claims witness to the fantastic underwater world. The main activity is always scuba diving and snorkeling in the nearby shallow reefs. A walk on the beach, a nap on a swaying hammock, and a meal taken under the island sunset are some of the many ways of savoring the total sense of the vacation. Here in this tiny island, one can only be at peace with himself.

Dumaguete City - One of the Top Tourist Destination and Dive Sites

Dumaguete City also known as “The City of Gentle People” is the main seaport and capital of Negros Oriental, a province located at the southwestern part of the Visayas Group of Islands in the Philippines.

Dumaguete City is becoming more of a mainstream tourist destination these days and it's easy to understand why: it has exquisite architecture, a laid-back university town ambience, and a lovely concrete path along the seafront promenade shaded by acacia trees and coconut palms,. The seafront is lined with cafes, restaurants, bars and hotels, and is especially lively at dusk with the after-work crowd and then again towards midnight, when the serious nightlife begins. Dumaguete is also close to some of the country's best scuba diving and has opportunities for whale- and dolphin-watching, while the coast to the south boasts good beaches and some restful little native resorts.

One of the top destinations in the country especially for divers and nature lovers is Dumaguete City.

It is not only a place to reminisce the old Spanish times, rather it’s also a perfect summer getaway to relax and be in one with the wonders of the nature. Lakawon Island Beach Resort

Lakawon Island Resort is a 13-hectare, banana-shaped island off the coast of Cadiz City in the northern portion of Negros Occidental, a province in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. A white sand beach resort on the island, a family-run business, is a popular destination for both local and foreign tourists.

The island is more similar to a sandbar. The white sand beaches are largely on the part of the island facing the island of Negros. The opposite portion, facing the open sea, is more rugged. There is a small fishing village on one side of the island. The inhabitants there earn their living from harvesting the sea's bounty and from working in the private resort.

Lakawon Island is 48 kilometers north of Bacolod City, the provincial capital. The island is accessible from the coast of Barangay Cadiz via a 20-minute boat ride. Lakawon's white sand beach is claimed to rival that of Boracay, a popular island resort off the coast of Aklan in Panay. In stark contrast to its more famous counterpart, however, Lakawon has a smaller influx of tourists, and the island is not commercially developed.
How to get there?
Getting to Cadiz City, which is the nearest embarkation point to the island, may be done via private or public transportation. From Bacolod City, or any point of Negros, are numerous jeepneys available for hire, driver included. One may also take Ceres Liner buses from any of the cities and municipalities in the province. From the national highway in Cadiz City, a dirt road leads to the shore. The island is visible from here and parking space is available. The ride to the island by motorized banca takes about 20 minutes. It is best to arrive in the morning during high tide–the waters will be calmer and there will be less wading required to get to the boat.
